We are looking for a courier driver for our small business to deliver and conduct pickups within the Christchurch Region in a timely manner. You must be reliable and committed as this job requires someone who could dedicate themselves into the role and is able to work unsupervised. Must hold a clean and current drivers license or equivalent. We are seeking someone who is hardworking, energetic and willing to go an extra mile to achieve results for our customers and wider community.
Your Duties will include but not limited to:
- Delivering and picking up goods in a timely manner.
- Manual loading and unloading are required.
- Should be able to lift weight up to 30kgs.
- Ensuring goods are handled carefully and any damages arereported promptly.
- Able to plan routes and tasks effectively.
- Pre check vehicle for oil, water, fuel and air pressure to ensure they are in line with road safety and vehicle standards.
- Ensure vehicle is kept clean and tidy and carry out any minor maintenance.
- Report defects, accidents or violations immediately
Follow all Health and Safety requirements and comply with all traffic laws.To be Successful in your application, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Clean and Current full Drivers License or equivalent.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility as this role requires early starts and late finishes. Might be required to work some public holidays and weekends.
- Must be physically fit (heavy lifting required)
- Should be able to work in stressful conditions, such as poor weather, heavy traffic and tight delivery/ pickup times.
- Have a positive, enthusiastic working attitude with strong work ethic.
- Time management skills and ability to work unsupervised.
- Strong Health and Safety focus and adherence all H&S procedures
- Always be in the correct uniform.
- Willingness to follow standard operating procedures.
- Must be willing to take a Drug and Alcohol Test and should have a clean criminal record.
- Experience in similar role and Current DG license would be advantages.
- Must be able to drive manual vehicle.
Employment type: Permanent Full Time
Minimum hours of work per week: 30 Hours
Pay Range : $29.66 p/h to $30 p/h
Days required: Monday to Friday (Some weekend and Public Days Required)
